NSC Boss Pleased with Junior Athletes’ Performance at Gateway Games 2024
The Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Honourable Bukola Olopade, has expressed his happiness with how the Invited Junior Athletes (IJA) are performing at the ongoing 22nd National Sports Festival, Gateway Games 2024.
Olopade, who looked very pleased, spoke after presenting medals to young swimmer Aidan Dumuje Abili, who has already won two silver medals and one bronze at the festival.
“It makes me really happy to see the positive results of the IJA project we started at the NSC. We wanted to give these young athletes a chance to compete at a high level, and they are showing that age doesn’t matter. From what we’ve seen so far, they are fearless, and with more experience, they will achieve even greater things in the future,” Olopade said.
In response, Abili thanked the NSC for giving junior athletes the chance to take part in the National Sports Festival.
