NSF: Enabulele Urges Edo Athletes to Keep Winning Spirit Alive
The Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, has called on Edo State athletes to stay focused and keep winning as the 2024 National Sports Festival continues in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Speaking after the Edo Cricket Team’s first match at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex, Enabulele praised the players for their strong performance and encouraged them to keep up the good work.
“Our male and female cricket teams are some of our strongest,” he said. “They always fight for gold, and we are here to support them all the way.”
He also urged the athletes in Kickboxing, Gymnastics, and Kunfu to remain determined and give their best to win more medals for Edo State.
“I believe in our athletes. They’ve shown great commitment, and I want them to keep the fire burning and maintain their momentum,” he added.
Enabulele visited different event venues to cheer on Edo athletes, including the NYSC Orientation Camp in Ikenne, where the weightlifting competition is taking place.
So far, Edo athletes have made a strong start, winning a total of 32 medals , 4 Gold, 14 Silver, and 14 Bronze, of 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
Highlights include:
John Aladetun winning 2 Gold and 1 Silver. in the 67kg Men’s Weightlifting
Kelly Alonge winning 22 Gold medals in Kung Fu Daoshu
The Edo Female Handball Team beating Kano 33–15 at the Alake Sports Centre
With this early success, Enabulele is confident that he will continue to shine at the festival and urged all athletes to keep pushing for more gold.
