Odey scores; Iheanacho, Ndidi assist as Leicester advance in UECL

Nigerians player made it their affair when Leicester City knocked out Randers FC 7-2 on aggregate in the Europa Conference League playoff round with a 3-1 win at the Cepheus Park Randers this evening.

Less then two minutes into the encounter, Wilfred Ndidi gave Harvey Barnes the ball at the halfway line, and the English winger swiftly made a brilliant run into the box before curling a powerful into the bottom corner.

James Maddison doubled Leicester’s lead at the 70th minute in the second period with an inch-perfect free-kick strike. He then bagged his second of the night not long after with another excellent strike from long range, courtesy of a Kelechi Iheanacho assist this time to make it 3-0.

Stephen Odey grabbed a late consolation for the hosts six minutes from time as he took advantage of goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel’s embarrassing mistake and stabbed into an empty net from close range.

Ademola Lookman and Tosin Kehinde were on the team sheet for either sides also on the night, and both delivered decent performances as well.

Unfortunately, Kehinde got stretchered off after a foul committed by his countryman Ndidi in the closing moments of the game.
