Odion Ighalo’s 7th league goal not enough as Shanghai Shenhua continue winless run
Super Eagles striker Odion Jude Ighalo scored his 7th league goal in 8th game in Shanghai Shenhua 2-1 away loss to Shenzhen FC at the Shenzhen Universiade Sports Centre on Sunday.
After failing to score in Shanghai Shenhua last league game, the former Granada striker was on target but his strike was not enough to save his side from the loss.
Li Yuanyi put the newly promoted Shenzhen FC in front in the 63rd minute before Odion Ighalo equalized for Shanghai Shenhua in the 76th minute from the spot.
Harold Preciado scored in the 89th minute to ensure Shanghai Shenhua went back home with nothing.
The defeat condemned Shanghai Shenhua to their third defeat in four games and a run of four games without a win while Odion Ighalo who lost his top scorer spot now has 7 goals, just one behind Graziano Pelle and Zahavi who sit top with 8 goals each.
