Odion Ighalo’s fifth goal fails to save Shanghai Shenhua in loss to Guangzhou R&F

Odion Ighalo fired his fifth goal of the season, but it was not enough as his club Shanghai Shenhua lost 2-1 at Guangzhou R&F at the Yuexiushan Stadium in a league game on Friday.

Odion Ighalo who entered the game on four goals as joint top scorer with Eran Zahavi who incidentally played for the Guangzhou R&F.

Eran Zahavi fired the home side in front in the 65th minute to become the top scorer but Odion Ighalo grabbed his 5th of the season from the spot kick to draw Shanghai Shenhua level.

But his celebration was cut short when Zhu Jianrong scored an own goal in the 96th minute to hand the maximum points to Guangzhou R&F on the plater of gold.

Odion Jude Ighalo has scored five goals in five league games played for Shanghai Shenhua this season.
