Odunayo Adekuoroye beats India’s Anshu Malik to retain her CWG 57kg Freestyle Wrestling Gold medal
She has now won four CWG medals
Odunayo Adekuoroye has retained her Commonwealth games GOLD medal in women’s 57kg Freestyle wrestling after an impressive win against her Indian opponent Anshu Malik.
Adekuoroye despite under pressure from Anshu Malik recorded a 7-3 (VPO1) to secure Nigeria’s first GOLD medal in Wrestling as she also retained the gold she won in the same event four years ago in Gold Coast.
She has now won four Commonwealth medals – three Gold and one Bronze –
In 2010 at Delhi she won a Bronze medal in the 48 kg, in 2014 at Glasgow she won a Gold medal in the 53 kg, in 2018 at Gold Coast she won a Gold medal in the 57 kg and retained her Gold medal today in Birmingham.
