Italy Serie A club AC Milan have officially announced that Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze has joined the club from Spanish side Villareal.
Chukwueze has signed a five-year contract and will wear the number 21 jersey for the 2023-2024 football season.
All through the summer, AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli had identified the Nigerian winger as top priority on the flanks and will now be happy to have his man.
24-year-old Samuel Chukwueze becomes Milan’s seventh signing of the summer with Marco Sportiello, Noah Okafor, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Luka Romero, Tijjani Reijnders and Christian Pulisic the other new additions at the San Siro.
Last season, Chukwueze enjoyed most productive season on a personal level at Villarreal, registering 24 goal contributions in all competitions since joining the Yellow Submarines in 2017, first as a Youth player before debutting for the first team in 2018.
After raking 207 appearances for the Spanish side, with 37 goals to his name in a time that produced one Europa League title win, Chukwueze will now start a new journey in Italy.
The left-footed winger arrived Italy for medical on Wednesday July 26 and following successful tests was officially unveiled as a Milan player on Thursday July 27.
He becomes the ninth Nigerian footballer to play for AC Milan.
