OFFICIAL: Simeon Nwankwo makes Super Eagles 30 man provisional list for the World Cup, Junior Lokosa after 18 NPFL goals also makes the cut

​Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr has announced a 30- man provisional squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup holding in Russia from June 14th to 15th July.

The Super Eagles have been paired with Croatia, Iceland and Argentina in Group D of the World Cup.

Gernot Rohr has stuck with the quartet of Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Dele Ajiboye, Daniel Akpeyi and youngster Francis Uzoho in the goalkeeping department.

Regulars such as John Obi Mikel, Victor Moses, William Troost-Ekong and defensive partner Leon Balogun made the cut.

Also in the team are Leicester City’s duo of Wilfried Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi, Ogenyi Onazi, Kenneth Omeruo, Ahmed Musa and China-based Odion Ighalo.

But missing from the 30-man selection released on Monday are Brown Ideye, Dele Alampasu, Anthony Nwakaeme, Henry Onyekuru, Victor Osimhen and Kayode Olanrewaju.

Goalkeepers: Francis Uzoho (Deportivo La Carina), Dele Ajiboye (Plateau United), Daniel Akpeyi (Chippa United), Ikechukwu Ezenwa (Enyimba FC). 

Defenders: William Troost Ekong (Bursaspor), Leon Balogun (Mainz), Chidozie Awaziem (Nantes), Kenneth Omeruo (Kasimpasa), Shehu Abdullahi (Bursaspor), Tyrone Ebuehi (Ado den Haag), Ola Aina (Hull City), Elderson Echiejille (Cercle Brugge), Brian Idowu (Amkar Perm),nStephen Eze (Lokomotiv Plovdiv).
