Okereke eyes miracle win at Lazio after scoring the winner against Truiden

David Okereke believes his side can pull an upset in Lazio and beat the Italian to a Champions League second round spot.

The confident Okereke who scored the only goal as Club Brugge pipped Truiden 1-0 in a Belgian League game on Saturday thinks his side can advance at the expense of their Italian hosts.

Going into the last game group stage game, Dortmund top the group with 10 points from 5 games, Lazio 2nd with 9 points while Club Brugge are 3rd with 7 points.

A spot in the Europa League round of 32 is already certain for the Belgian champions but David Okereke who was a second half substitute for his compatriot Dennis Emmanuel is targeting a surprise win.

‘I feel good and enjoy the match. Football is not table tennis, it is a sport with 11 players,’ said Okereke on club’s website.

‘Club Brugge is a good team. I am patient and take my chances when I can.

‘I also adapt myself as a player. If the coach asks me to play in a certain position , I can do just that.

‘If you have just won, you will go into the next match with full energy.

‘We have nothing to lose there.

‘We can write a nice story,” he said.

Dennis Emmanuel and David Okereke are expected to take part when Club Brugge travel to Lazio on Tuesday.
