Okocha on the same level as Ronaldo, Messi – Emmanuel Adebayor
Togolese football legend Emmanuel Adebayor has sensationally ranked former Super Eagles skipper Austin Okocha on the same level as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
This comment was made during Okocha’s 50th birthday celebration match earlier this week.
Adebayor, a former Arsenal and Manchester City striker believes Okocha is on the same league as Messi, Ronaldo and even Brazilian veteran Ronaldinho.T
” Today, people will say [Lionel] Messi. People say [Christiano] Ronaldo and Ronaldinho. I think he [Okocha] is in that league,” Adebayor said.
At the same event, Daniel Amokachi was moved to ask how Okocha was never named CAF African Player of the Year.
“Jay Jay Okocha, he was so good they named him twice. About a month ago, I tweeted something online; I said, ‘I don’t understand how Jay Jay never won African Footballer [of the Year]. How e take happen?’ Amokachi remarked.
