Ola Aina: Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espírito Santo hopeful over new contract
Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espírito Santo is hopeful that Ola Aina will sign a new contract with the club. He confirmed that talks are progressing well and expects a positive outcome.
Aina joined Forest on a free transfer in 2023 and has become an important player for the team. He has been a regular in their Premier League campaign, impressing with his performances.
His current contract expires at the end of the season, and Forest are working to extend his stay. Other clubs have shown interest in the Nigerian defender, but Forest are keen to keep him by offering a long-term deal.
Aina’s versatility, solid defending, and attacking contributions have made him a key player under Nuno’s management. His strong performances, especially against top teams, have convinced the club to push for a contract renewal.
Speaking in a press conference on Thursday, Nuno said: “I think there will be good news. Things are going well. I am positive and confident everything is going to be solved.”
Aina started his career at Chelsea, where he spent 12 years in the youth system and won two UEFA Youth League titles. He made his first-team debut in 2016 but struggled for regular game time. In 2019, he moved to Torino in Italy to continue his development.
Since returning to England, Aina has been in excellent form. He has scored two goals in 24 Premier League matches this season and has been a key part of Forest’s campaign.
Nuno’s comments suggest the club is confident of reaching an agreement soon. Forest fans will be eagerly waiting for an official announcement about Aina’s future.
