Ola Aina stars in Torino’s 4-1 win at Sampdoria
Super Eagles versatile defender Ola Aina put in a great shift as his Italian side, Torino, secured a 4-1 away win against Sampdoria in an Italian Serie A game played at Luigi Ferraris on Sunday.
The Chelsea loanee who has been enjoying playing time under Walter Mazzarri’s Torino put up a man of the match performance to ensure his side returned to winning ways after draws in their last two games.
Although Ola Aina didn’t score a goal, he however assisted Iago Falque’s goal which was Torino’s third of the day and he was defensively alerted throughout the game.
Aina ran from 25 yards into the box to nod a ball from the right flank back to Falque who made no mistakes scoring with a shot.
Andrea Belotti scored Torino’s first and second goals, Iago Falque scored the third goal before Fabio Quagliarella reduced the deficit for the home team with a strike in the 65th minutes.
Armando Izzo’s 78th minutes strike restored Torino’s 3-goal lead and ensured an easy win for the visitors.
Ola Aina who played as left wing back in Walter Mazzarri’s 3-5-2 formation was on the pitch for entire match.
He has played a total of 10 Serie A games for 7th placed Torino.
