Ola Aina’s 1st professional goal sends Hull City to Emirate Cup 4th round

Super Eagles full back Ola Aina netted the match winner as Hull City made it through to the fourth round of the Emirates FA Cup with a 1-0 victory over League One side Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on Saturday.

Aina’s goal, the first of his senior career, was enough to send Nigel Adkins’ side through and inflict Blackburn’s first defeat since mid-October.

Blackburn created the first chance of the afternoon with Craig Conway curling a shot over the bar in the second minute before Paul Caddis fired a shot against Marshall’s crossbar with 11 minutes gone.

Aina picked up knock early on but was able to carry on in the keenly contested battle.

There was little to write about in the early stages of the second half….until the Tigers took a 58th-minute lead. Good work from Aina earned a corner, and the right back got himself into the box to head home from Toral’s delivery.

The goal was Ola Aina’s first professional goal.
