Olympics Eagles player rating in 4-0 win vs Libya U23: Victor Osimhen scores 10/10

Nigeria U-23 team trashed Libya 4-0 in Asaba on Monday to overturn their 2-0 deficit and qualify for the final qualifying round where either of Kenya or Sudan is waiting.

The Olympics Eagles were too good on the day they needed to do a job and they did it excellently.

7 Francis Uzoho
Francis Uzoho didn’t have to make any real save as he was on chilling mood the entire duration of the game.

7 Etiboy Akpan
Contributed his quota flying the wing.

7 Ebube Duru
Didn’t have much to do defensively but contributed his quota defensively.

7 Valentine Ozornwafor
Was holidaying for the most part of the game as the Libyans chose to defend instead their 2-0 lead.

8 Chidozie Awaziem
Didn’t have much to do but was alert to cut the Libyans during their runs in the second half after they’ve gone three goals down.

He played high up the field to support the midfielders in the distribution of the ball.

7 Azubuike Okechukwu
Captain Okechukwu was a leader in the tie. He controlled the midfield and cut the Libyans from making any run.

8 Kelechi Nwakali

Created chances, distributed the ball, was involved in everything going forward not afraid of the ball or his opponents.

He had one of his free kicks saved and the the other led into the first goal. He was a complete clash in the middle of the flank.

7 Samuel Chukwueze
Had his free kick hit the ball, made his usual mazy runs but wasn’t as effective as he could have been.

6 Orji Okonkwo
Had some good moments in the first half where he would cut in and fire shot at the goalie. Pulled a saving in one and others were tame shots.

6 Taiwo Awoniyi
Played way below expectations. Missed a glorious chance in the early minutes of the game. Struggled to really impact the game and was hurled off for Okereke.

10 Victor Osimhen

Nigeria would be out if he didnt play in this game. The intangibles were what separated him from others. What he did with the ball, when he had the ball and when he didn’t have it helped the Olympics Eagles today.

He scored three goals and assisted the fourth goals but his all round play was the key to Nigeria’s success.

6 Dennis Bonaventure
Came in danced his way into creating the fourth goal.

7 David Okereke
Came in for Taiwo Awoniyi and scored the goal that confirmed Olympics Eagles place.
