Onuachu nets on second appearance as Trabzonspor fall to defeat
Nigerian duo of Paul Onuachu and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru traded blows in the Turkish Super Lig as Hatayspor defeated Trabzonspor 3-2 in a thrilling encounter at home.
Passed fit after an injury scare in the game against Besiktas, Onuachu was picked to lead the line for Trabzonspor once more, and he delivered a telling moment after only 14 minutes. The giant striker knocked down a long ball for winger Edin Visca, who ran in behind to slot home the game’s first goal.
Onuachu added a goal to his earlier assist when he fired home from inside the box after a cross fell into his path in the 62nd minute, making it two goals in two games since joining Trabzonspor.
Ten minutes later, Hatayspor began an improbable comeback, with Rigoberto Rivas pulling one back for the home side. With two minutes left on the clock, Dele-Bashiru played a pass to striker Didier Lamkel Ze to equalise for Hatayspor.
With the game in its closing seconds, Hayatspor counterattacked after Trabzonspor lost the ball in their half. The ball went to Joelson Fernandes, who played a pass into Dele-Bashiru. The 22-year-old readied himself before arrowing an effort into the far corner with the last kick of the game to secure the win for his side.
