Onuachu scores 27th league goal to extend lead atop Belgian scorers chart

Now has 31 goals for club and country this season

In form Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu has scored his 26th league goal in Genk’s 3-2 away win against Oud-Heverlee on Monday.

The 26-year-old striker who was Nigeria’s hero in their AFCON qualifying games against Benin Republic and Lesotho last Friday and Tuesday respectively continued his fine form at his club.

Originally deemed only fit for the standby list by Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr, Paul Onuachu was the star for Nigeria scoring two goals in two games.

Back to his club in Belgium, the former Midtjylland scored his club’s third goal to hand them a 3-2 win at King Power at Den Dreef against Oud-Heverlee.

The goal increased his tally to 31 in all competitions this season for club and country. With 26 of the goals scored in the league after 31 games.

2 goals in the Belgian league cup, in fact, the goals have been in two cup games that Genk will be playing Standard Liege in the final on the 25/04/2021.

He also has 2 goals in 3 international games for Nigeria this season.

Paul Onuachu maintained his 5 goal cushion atop the Belgian top scorers’ chart with the nearest scorer Thomas Henry on 21 goals.
