Nigeria’s 24 year old winger, Henry Onyekuru added to his impressive brace against Gaziantep FK another goal for Galatasaray as they routed Turkish Super Lig champions, Istanbul Basaksehir 3-0.
After coming off the bench to score a brace last time out, the coach opted to start him and he didn’t disappoint. The on-loan striker opened the scoring in the 45th minute when he darted in from the left to head home Ryan Donk’s pinpoint delivery. Donk himself added a second in the 64th minute before debutant, Mustafa Mohammed added a third from the penalty spot in a brutal performance by Galatasaray.
The goal scored by Onyekuru was his 60th in 120 career starts, showing his prolific nature in front of goal. Fellow Nigerian, Oghenekaro Etebo also lasted the first half for Galatasaray before being substituted, and Azubuike Okechukwu was on the pitch for Basaksehir for 88 minutes.
