Osayi-Samuel Vows to Speak Out After Season Ends Amid Robbery and Transfer Talk
Nigerian international Bright Osayi-Samuel has said he will speak publicly at the end of the season, following rumours about a robbery at his home in Turkey and ongoing talks about his future.
The Super Eagles right-back, who plays for Fenerbahçe, has seen his contract run down and is expected to leave the club next month. He hinted that the full story has not been told, especially regarding recent reports of a break-in at his home.
In an interview with Fanatix, Osayi-Samuel said there are efforts to damage his name.
“As always, people are trying to destroy my reputation,” he said. “But I’ll reveal everything once the season is over.”
The 27-year-old has been in the spotlight during a difficult period for Fenerbahçe, who have now gone 11 years without winning the Turkish Super Lig title. Despite a strong season, they finished second behind rivals Galatasaray for the fourth straight time.
Osayi-Samuel was one of Fenerbahçe’s best players this season, with eight assists in 37 appearances. Since joining from Queens Park Rangers in 2021, he has made 176 appearances and scored seven goals, earning praise for his energy and commitment on the right side of defence.
Recent reports in Turkey said his home was burgled, which added to the uncertainty about his future. Talks over a new contract have reportedly stalled, even though the club would like to keep him.
Osayi-Samuel is now strongly linked with a return to England. Crystal Palace are believed to be leading the race to sign him, while Wolves have also shown interest.
The player has promised to speak openly about the situation, including the burglary and the reasons behind his likely departure from Fenerbahçe, after the season ends.
