Oshoala contributes three goals in Barcelona 8-1 rout of Sociedad

Now has 10 goals in 8 league games

Asisat Oshoala was unstoppable as Barcelona Femini trashed Real Sociedad 8-1 in a league game on Sunday.

The African women player of the year was on hand as Barcelona dominated their visitors.

Barcelona quickly took the lead in the third minute through Jonathan Giraldez but the visitors drew level Sanni Franssi.

Asisat Oshoala stepped up to restore Barcelona lead in the 23rd minute after heading home a cross from Lieke Martens.

The former Liverpool forward completed her brace in the 38th minute curling a pass from Alexia Putellas into the net.

At half time it ended 3-1in favour of Barcelona.

The reigning European champions continued from where they left it off in the second half.

But despite their dominant display the goal didn’t come until the 62nd minute.

Oshoala again was involved as she held on to a pass between two defenders before teeing up Martens who fired in for Barcelona fourth goal.

Jenni Hermoso increased the lead in the 65th minute with Putellas the provider.

With another almost certain Oshoala was withdrawn in the 70th minute.

It became six when Sociedad’s Maddi Torre turned the ball into her own net.
Martens also completed her brace in the 87th minute and Claudia Pina who replaced Oshoala scored Barcelona 8th of the night.

Asisat Oshoala now has registered 10 goals, 2 assists in 8 league games for Barcelona.

Barcelona have also won all their games sitting comfortably at the top of the standings.
