Oshoala ends drought with a goal and assist in Barca’s big UWCL win

Barcelona to play the winner of the clash between Chelsea and Lyon

Asisat Oshoala has ended her four-game goal drought with a goal and assist to help Barcelona women beat Roma 5-1 on Wednesday in the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarterfinal second-leg tie.

Since Barcelona’s 5-0 win against Villarreal at the beginning of the month, Asisat Oshoala has failed to find the back of the net in four games.

But, on Wednesday, she ended that run by contributing two goals as the Barcelona women’s team strolled past Roma women into their fifth consecutive UEFA Champions League semifinals.

Asisat Oshoala put it on the plate for Fridolina Rolfo to give Barcelona the lead just 11 minutes into the game.

Maria Leon increased Barcelona’s tally with her 33rd minutes strike before Fridolina Rolfo completed her brace in the stoppage time of the first half.

One minute into the start of the second half, Asisat Oshoala got her goal and Bracelona’s fourth of the night.

Patricia Guijarro Gutierrez then completed the rout with her strike but got a consolation goal through Annamaria Serturini.

The win confirmed Barcelona’s place in the semifinal after a 6-1 aggregate win, they will now play the winner of the tie between Chelsea and Lyon.

Chelsea women hold a 1-0 away win going into the second leg to be played on Thursday.
