Osimhen agrees lucrative Napoli contract extension
Super Eagles ace set to remain at Napoli until 2027
Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has agreed to extend his stay at Napoli until 2027, and is set to pen a two-year contract extension to remain at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on improved terms.
Red-hot striker Osimhen was instrumental for Napoli as they won their first Scudetto in 32 years, winning the league’s highest goalscorer award and being named as the league’s striker of the year.
Osimhen was wanted by multiple clubs in Europe, including Manchester United, PSG, Chelsea and Bayern Munich, but the 24-year-old decided to remain in Naples for one more season, at least. The Super Eagles striker was also approached by a Saudi Pro League side and offered a reported £1m weekly salary.
The striker will earn an annual salary of €10m and will have a release clause of €140-150m included in his contract that will now expire in 2027. He remains very happy at the club and is set to spearhead the side once more this season under new manager Rudi Garcia. His form in preseason has been brilliant despite an injury scare.
