Osimhen, Chukwueze to miss Lesotho and Zimbabwe FIFAWCQ, Peseiro confirms

Super Eagles’ trio Victor Osimhen, Taiwo Awoniyi and Samuel Chukwueze may be ready for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe per reports from the players’ respective clubs.

Super Eagles of Nigeria Head Coach, Jose Peseiro has confirmed Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze will miss upcoming games vs Lesotho and Zimbabwe.

Nigeria is scheduled to kickstart their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification journey in November vs Lesotho and Zimbabwe.

The Eagles will host the Crocodiles of Lesotho on November 16 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on the 16th before travelling to face the Warriors of Zimbabwe three days later.

Ahead of both games, Super Eagles of Nigeria Coach, Jose Peseiro says he will be without two key players.

“Samuel Chukwueze and Victor Osimhen will not be called up during the next break; we want to avoid any risks,” Peseiro told TV Play, as per Milan Reports.

“I was very sorry for their injuries: the clubs pay the players, and we constantly collaborate with them.”

Peseiro is expected to announce his squad for the FIFA World Cup qualification games in the coming days.
