Osimhen contract renewal: Napoli Director expresses delight
Napoli director, Mauro Meluso, expressed his delight following the contract renewal of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen with the club.
Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis announced the extension on Saturday, December 23, 2023, revealing that Osimhen had committed to Napoli until June 2026.
In response to the contract news, Meluso conveyed his excitement, emphasizing the positive relationship between the club and the player. He acknowledged the mutual commitment demonstrated by both parties, highlighting Osimhen’s dedication and effort on the field.
” We are just pleased that Osimhen signed the new contract. The club made a step towards the player, who was also eager to continue his rapport with Napoli, ” Meluso told DAZN.
While refraining from delving into specific contractual details, Meluso underscored the importance of the player’s actions in solidifying the renewed commitment. The director expressed Napoli’s pleasure at Osimhen’s decision to continue his journey with the club.
“I will not get into the details. “He never backed down or showed a lack of effort, just like his teammates, so he made his commitment clear with action.” Meluso added.
However, in his first match following the contract renewal announcement, against AS Roma on Saturday night, Osimhen received a red card as Napoli suffered a 2-0 defeat.
Despite the on-field setback, the club remains optimistic about Osimhen’s future contributions following the contract renewal.
