Osimhen Header Seals Derby Victory for Galatasaray Against Beşiktaş
Nigeria international Victor Osimhen was the hero for Galatasaray as his goal secured a hard-fought 1–0 victory over fierce rivals Beşiktaş on Saturday.
The much-anticipated encounter featured two Super Eagles players on opposite sides, with Wilfred Ndidi starting in midfield for Beşiktaş while Osimhen spearheaded Galatasaray’s attack.
Galatasaray found the breakthrough in the 35th minute when Osimhen rose above the defenders inside the penalty area to head the ball powerfully into the net, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.
Beşiktaş responded strongly after the break and pushed forward in search of an equaliser. Ndidi worked tirelessly in midfield to help his side control possession and launch attacks, but Galatasaray’s defence remained organised and difficult to break down.
Despite late pressure from the home side, Galatasaray held on to secure the narrow victory.
The win further boosts Galatasaray’s push in the league standings, while Osimhen once again showed his importance to the team with a decisive performance in a high-profile derby clash.
