Osimhen-less Napoli hammered 0-4 by AC Milan

Napoli were Victor Osimhen-less for the Italian Serie A clash vs AC Milan on Sunday April 2. Napoli were hammered 0-4 at home by the reigning league champions.

The Nigerian forward reported back from International duty with injury and so Luciano Spalleti named Giovanni Simeone to lead the attack vs a Milan team without a league win since Febuary.

Napoli started the 150th league meeting vs AC Milan16 points clear at the top while Milan occupied fifth spot after picking up just one point from their last three games.

AC Milan showed early signs of promise and got due reward in the 17th minute when Rafael Leao scored the opening goal.

Diaz brilliantly drove forward before playing a perfect ball to Leao. The striker controlled perfectly by chipping over goalkeeper  Napoli goalkeeper Meret.

Brahim Diaz doubled the lead on minute 25 when he poked home a cross from Bennacer.

Napoli did step up in search of a goals but there was no way past a compact Milan defence setup.

In the second half, Rafael Leao added the 3rd goal to compound a frustrating evening for the Serie A leaders who lacked the cutting edge in the abcsence of Osimhen.

Alexis Saelemeakers scored the fourth and final goal of the contest in the 67th minute to hand AC Milan a convincing 0-4 win at the Diego Armando Maradona staduim on Sunday.

Nappli will hope Osimhen is fit and ready for the next meeting vs AC Milan. Italian clubs Napoli and AC Milan will lock horns in the UEFA Champions League quater-final.
