Osimhen named in squad vs. Barca despite injury concerns

Victor Osimhen did not join Napoli’s last preparatory session ahead of their Barcelona clash scheduled for Thursday evening.

The Azzurri reported that the Nigerian forward is being sidelined as a precautionary measure to give him rest due to an overload in his right knee.

In spite of this, Osimhen was named in Napoli’s travelling squad to Barcelona as rumours suggest the striker will start on Thursday.

The 23-year-old striker has been red-hot form in the Europa League this season, scoring 4 goals in just 168 minutes of action.

Napoli will take on Barcelona in the Europa League playoff round on Thursday at Camp Nou.
