The 2021/2022 Nigerian National league season gets underway this weekend across various venues in the Country. Rt. Hon. Otuekong Nse Essien CEO of FC One Rocket one of 46 teams participating in the league today revealed his teams target for the new season plus his expectations as the league begins.
In an exclusive chat with sportsration.com in his capacity as a stakeholder in the game, Otuekong Nse Essien admonished the Board of Nigeria’s second tier league to allow for level playing ground for every team to compete for the priced promotion tickets.
The Sports administrator who represents the people of Onna in the Akwa Ibom state house of Assembly where he chairs the House committee on Sports offered tips on what should be done to guarantee a hitch free season. He said..
“My expectations are that we should have a fair league .Let the better side win always . That is the only way you won’t have a bitter loser“.
His team, Fc One Rocket posted solid performances in the NNL last season. Fc One Rocket earned plaudits for not just their on field performances but the professional way which the club is run. Founded on a philosophy of recruiting Unique and talented players plus a formidable youth system in Carabana Academy, Fc One Rocket is never in short supply of talented players .
There was so much praise for a young team debuting in the league dorning playing kits of the highest quality with well branded vehicles for staff and players plus a comfortable camp facility for the players, features not too common among teams in the second tier.
True to his well known drive to always be the best, Otuekong Nse Essien offered a different assessment when probed to rate his teams performance last year. In a short remark he said “Our debut season wasn’t what we wanted ” an assertion which demonstrated his desire to gain promotion to the NPFL.
Revealing his sides target for the new season which begins this weekend, Proprietor of the Indomitable empire, Otuekong Nse Essien said ” This will be our season. We are aiming for the top spot which will guarantee our promotion to the elite league”.
This is the message the vastly experienced Coach Emmanuel King and his players will take to the turf with on each Matchday as they compete in Group B2 of the abridged 2021/2022 Nigerian National league season.
On Saturday 12th February 2022, Fc One Rocket will kick off their season against a familiar opposition Apex Krane Fc of Delta state. The match will hold at the training pitch of the Nest of Champions with kickoff by 4pm.
