Oxygen Fc and their journey to the Super 8 playoff of the 2022 Akwa Ibom Grassroots Football League

Sportsration correspondent Nsikakabasi Akpan continues a review of the Journey to the Super Eight playoffs for the Big Eight teams of the 2022 Akwa Ibom Grassroots Football League. Presented here is the Journey of Oxygen Fc.

Few days to the kickoff of the 2022 season, Debutants Oxygen Fc sent fresh air to space with the Unveiling of it’s Jerseys. The quality and design of the kit was one that attracted plaudits from football fans and stakeholders from within and outside the country.

Three Consecutive 1-0 wins over Scorpions Fc, Krane Fc and Josima Fc gave Oxygen Fc a convincing start to the season. Top of the table, Three wins from three ,Yet to concede a goal, Everything was fine and good for Oxygen Fc.

When Barracks Fc scored through Wisdom Solomon in week four three things happened, Oxygen Fc’s impressive defence setup was finally breached. Lost its first of two consecutive games, slipped from the top of the standings leaving the air we breath in short supply at the end of Week Five.

A 2-1 win over Unity Fc breathed life back into the Oxygen Football Club Journey to the Super Eight. Ahead of week seven the message at Oxygen Fc was clear, defeat Cheetah Fc and Progress to the next round.

A 3-0 result to sum 15 points from 7 games (5 wins and two defeats) sent Oxygen Fc through to the Super Eight playoffs as the second placed team in Onna Zone.

Famed for a compact and energetic style of play where everyone attacked and also defended to make the backline hard to breach. Keeping an eye on Oxygen Fc will lead to the discovery of talented youngsters who play with their hearts for a club they love and cherish.

Mr Akan Solomon a football fan was wowed by the offield features of the club and posited that if coordination, packaging and Fan base is counted for points, then Oxygen Fc should fly above the rest to top spot.

A Super Eight playoffs Quater Final clash Vs Undefeated Jimbo International Fc awaits on the 2nd of May 2022 at the Onna Township stadium by 11am.
