Pacquiao beats Keith Thurman to claim the WBA World Welterweight Title at 40

Senator Manny Pacquiao is now the new WBA World Welterweight champions after beating Keith Thurman on Saturday.

The 40 year old looked very sharp and in shape as he inflicted Keith Thurman first ever professional defeat on hi.

Manny Pacquiao won the fight by split decision as the three judges scored him 115-112, 115-112, 113-114 to claim the title.

Manny Pacquiao became the fifth-oldest male boxer to win a world title following his victory against previously unbeaten Keith Thurman in Las Vegas.

“I wish I had a little bit more output to go toe-to-toe. My conditioning, output was just behind Manny Pacquiao. It was a great night of boxing. I would love a rematch,” said Thurman after the match.

“My next fight is probably next year. After this I am going back to the Philippines to work in the Senate,” said Pacquiao after the win.
