Paul Onuachu Bags Brace as Trabzonspor Edge Konyaspor

Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu was the star of the night as he scored twice to lead Trabzonspor to a 3-1 win over Konyaspor at Papara Park.

Onuachu, who has been in good form this season, kept his place in the starting line-up for Trabzonspor’s 14th Super Lig match of the campaign. However, the home side did not start as planned as they went behind in the 17th minute when Okay Yokuslu mistakenly put the ball into his own net.

Trabzonspor grew into the game, keeping possession but struggling to break down Konyaspor’s defence. Their breakthrough came in the 39th minute when Ernest Muci won a penalty after a VAR check. Onuachu stepped up and calmly sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to level the score two minutes before the break.

The home team returned for the second half with more energy and soon turned the game around. Eight minutes after the restart, a well-worked move from midfield led to Mustafa Eskihellac delivering a low cross into the box. Onuachu was well positioned and guided the ball into the bottom corner to make it 2-1.

Trabzonspor continued to press, and their effort paid off with a late third goal to seal the victory, giving their fans a happy evening and pushing them further up the league table. Onuachu’s brace was the highlight of a strong team performance, as the Nigerian striker once again proved his class in front of goal.
