Paul Onuachu ends goal drought to lead FC Midtjylland past FC Copenhagen

Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu was on target as FC Midtjylland beat FC Copenhagen 3-1 in their Danish Superliga matchday 9 clash at the MCH Arena on Sunday.

The 6’7″ tall Nigerian striker can now breath fresh air as he ended his 6-game goal drought in FC Midtjylland win.

Both teams put their unbeaten run on the clash as they went head to head on the day. While the hosts, Midtjylland were unbeaten in their last 6 games, the visitors, Copenhagen were also unbeaten in their last 7 games.

Jakob Poulsen gave FC Midtjylland the lead from the penalty in the 15 minutes of the game.

With a powerful header, Paul Onuachu put the hosts in a comfortbale position as he made it two in the 61st minutes. The goal was his first in 7 games, ending his 6-game goalless run.

The away team reduced the deficit to 1 through a header from Dame N’Doye in the 74th minutes of the game.

Marc Dal Hende scored in the 83rd minutes to restore Midtjylland 2 goal cushion and ensure they sealed a 3-1 win to remain unbeaten still.

Three Nigerian players started the game for FC Midtjylland, goal scorer Paul Onuachu, Frank Onyeka and Simon Okosun.

While Paul Onuachu was on the pitch for the entire duration of the game, Frank Onyeka and Simon Okosun were taken off in the 73rd and 46th minutes due to injury.

The win ensured FC Midtjylland are just one point within the reach of FC Copenhagen
