Pep Guardiola warns Manchester City stars about Champions League Qualification
Guardiola admitted that City could miss out on a Champions League spot, but he is still confident they will finish in the top five of the Premier League.
Liverpool and Arsenal have already secured two of those spots. Arsenal beat Newcastle 1-0 on Sunday to help their position.
Newcastle, Chelsea, and Aston Villa all have 66 points. Manchester City are just behind with 65 points but have one game in hand. They are set to play Bournemouth next at home.
Speaking to reporters, Guardiola said, “If we don’t make it to the Champions League, then we don’t deserve it and will play in the Europa League. That’s how it is.”
“But I believe we will qualify. We need four more points, that’s our main goal. I’m fully confident we can do it.”
Even though the race for Champions League spots is tight, Guardiola is hopeful that City can perform well in the last matches and reach their goal.
