Pep Says Mahrez Will Succeed At City

Manchester City manager Riyad Mahrez is confident that summer recruit Riyad Mharez will be a success at the Etihad Stadium outfit.

The former Leicester City influential winger is yet to hit the form that made the Premier League champions pay a record £60 million for his services.

This season, the Algeria international has only started two games for City and is yet to open his goal account.

However, the Catalan is upbeat that the winger will replicate his Leicester form but needs time to settle in, similar to Bernardo Silva who struggled on his arrival to the Etihad Stadium.

“Sometimes we need more time,” Guardiola said. “It has happened a little bit with Riyad. It is going to happen in the future. Riyad is going to come back to the same form we saw when he was with Leicester and the way Bernardo is right now.That is why I like to work with these kind of players. They always try their best. All the time they play with a smile.”
