Peseiro happy after securing Nigeria’s first friendly win In five years

Super Eagles of Nigeria Head Coach, Jose Peseiro says he is happy that Nigeria defeated Mozambique to end a 15-game International friendly winless streak.

A negative run that lasted for five years was clipped as Nigeria secured a hard-fought 3-2 win over Mozambique on Monday, October 16 In Portugal.

Goals from Terem Moffi, Frank Onyeka and Moses Simon helped Jose Peseiro tutored Eagles past the Mambas of Mozambique who scored the first and last goals at the Estadio Municipal de Portimao.

Speaking after the game, Peseiro questioned his players concentration level, passing and inability to convert their scoring chances.

“First of all I’m happy because after 15 friendly matches the Super Eagles eventually won a game, it’s good,” Peseiro said on NFF TV.

” Looking at the game especially the second half I didn’t like the performance, I expected more concentration. Our team is better than Mozambique, we needed to concentrate on finishing, good passing, ”

Up next for Jose Peseiro and his men are World Cup qualifiers vs Lesotho and Mozambique In November.
