President Tinubu to Host NPFL Champions Remo Stars in Abuja
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will welcome newly crowned Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions, Remo Stars, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The reception is expected to take place before the start of the 2025/26 NPFL season.
Well-known NPFL journalist, Ojeikere Aikhoje, shared the update on X, stating:
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to host #NPFL25 champions, Remo Stars, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. A memo requesting photo opportunities and handshakes for domestic league winners was sent to the President as far back as December 2024.”
Remo Stars, also known as the Sky Blue Stars, won the 2024/25 NPFL title last month – a historic moment for the Ikenne-based club.
The club will now represent Nigeria in the CAF Champions League, alongside Rivers United, next season.
