Former Barcelona striker turned pundit, Gary Lineker says Chelsea FC have one player who plays like FIFA Best Player, Lionel Messi.
Lineker has lauded Chelsea forward Cole Palmer for his exceptional performance, particularly highlighting his assist in Chelsea’s recent 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
As earlier reported by SportsRation, that assist helped Cole Palmer join an exclusive list of players who have hit 20+goals and 10+assists in a single season.
Palmer’s standout moment came with a remarkable assist that contributed to Mykhailo Mudryk’s opening goal for Chelsea. The England international delivered a perfectly executed pass between centre-back Willy Boly and right-back Gonzalo Montiel, allowing Mudryk to capitalize and score for the Blues.
Speaking on the Rest of Football podcast, Lineker expressed his admiration for Palmer’s contribution, drawing comparisons between his pass and the caliber of passes typically associated with Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi. Lineker stressed the precision and weight of Palmer’s pass, likening it to the style of play often exhibited by Messi himself.
“Cole Palmer, what about the pass for the Mudryk goal? The weight of it! It was Messi-esque that was!” Gary Lineker said.
