Top 10 Table Tennis Players in Africa
Aruna Quadri has moved one place in the latest International Table Tennis Federation rankings.
The Nigerian superstar garnered points that pushed him from the 14th position to the 13th after an impressive outing at the World Table Tennis Smash in Singapore this month.
Aruna Quadri recorded a 3-0 (11-7, 13-11, 11-7) victory over Tomakazu Harimoto who is still the world number four despite his defeat to the Nigerian.
Quadri who had lost thrice in their previous encounters got the better of the 19-year-old Japanese in the round of 16 to book a place in the quarterfinal.
He was however beaten by Hugo Calderano in a straight set 4-0 (7-11, 10-12, 2-11, 2-11) in their quarterfinal game.
Despite the defeat, Aruna Quadri has done enough to earn him the 13th spot.
