Rachael Adedini signs first Professional Contract with Chelsea
Rachael Adedini has taken an important step in her football career after signing her first professional contract with Chelsea at the age of 17.
The young forward, who was born in Le Havre, France, has already made a name for herself with France’s youth teams. She has made 24 appearances for the Under-17s and two for the Under-19s.
Speaking after signing her first professional deal, Adedini could hardly hide her excitement about joining Chelsea, a club that holds special meaning for her family.
“I’m very happy to be here. I’m excited, and I’m grateful to be here,” she said.
The teenager also revealed that her brother’s love for Chelsea played a part in making the moment even more special.
“I’m thankful to God, and the reason behind this is because my brother’s a big fan, and we’ve always loved Chelsea, so playing here today is a massive pride for me and my family.”
Adedini has also enjoyed success with France at the Women’s Under-17 European Championship, where she scored nine goals across three consecutive editions since the 2023/24 season.
At the 2026 tournament, she finished as the top scorer despite France losing 1-0 to Germany in the final. Adedini scored in the 5-0 group-stage win over Poland before adding two goals in a 4-1 victory against Finland.
Now at Chelsea, the 17-year-old will look to build on those performances as she begins her professional career with a club she and her family have supported for years.
