Raja Casablanca Score Two Late Goals to Eliminate El-Kanemi Warriors from CAF Confederation Cup

Moroccan giants Raja Club Athletic have qualified for the 2026/2027 CAF Confederation Cup group stage after defeating Nigeria’s El-Kanemi Warriors 2-0 in the second leg in Casablanca.

The victory gave Raja a 4-2 aggregate win after both teams played out a 2-2 draw in the first leg in Ikenne, Nigeria, last weekend.

Raja struggled to break down the Nigerian side at the Mohammed V Stadium, with the match appearing to be heading for a goalless draw that would have been enough to send the Moroccan club through.

However, the hosts scored twice in the closing stages to seal their place in the group stage.

Aymen Barkok broke the deadlock just two minutes before the end of regular time, scoring from a free kick to put Raja ahead and ease the pressure on the home side.

Portuguese defender Marian Huja then scored a second goal five minutes into stoppage time to confirm Raja’s victory.

The late goals ended El-Kanemi Warriors’ hopes of progressing in the competition, while Raja advanced after a difficult contest against the Nigerian side.

Raja, two-time CAF Confederation Cup champions, will now turn their attention to the group stage as they seek to win the continental title for a third time.
