Rangers 1 Lobi 1: Solomon Kwambe’s free kick ends Flying Antelopes exclusive record and chance to go six points clear
Rangers International and Lobi Stars played a 1-1 draw in their rescheduled Nigeria Professional Football League game at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium on Wednesday.
Godwin Aguda put the home team in front from the spot in the 60th minute after a penalty was awarded from Kelly Kester’s challenge on his former Sharks teammate Ibrahim Ajani.
The game was ending on a winning note until Solomon Kwambe scored a powerful free kick in the 90th minute to deny Rangers the chance to go six points clear despite playing two games less.
The result also ended Rangers International exclusive record of 100% home win this season. Before the 1-1 draw, Rangers International had gone six games without dropping points at the Cathedral.
Rangers International remain top of group A with 28 points with their nearest rivals Enyimba and MFM on 24 points, Lobi Stars sit 4th with 22 points.
