Rangers’ Godwin Aguda reveals goal scoring secret, goal target and future plans

Rangers International player Godwin Aguda has revealed the secret behind his impressive form this season, his long-term plans and his goal target.

Aguda has either assisted or scored in 40% of the goals scored by Rangers International in all competitions this season.

He has a total of 6 goals in the CAF Confederation Cup this season, 5 from the qualifiers and 1 in the first group game played last weekend against Salitas FC of Burkina Faso.

Aguda pointed out God, his coach support, teammates and his extra trainings as what is responsible for his impressive season.

“It can only be God’s grace coupled with my team mates and coaches support that have seen me get this far in the competition.

“No doubt, the extra trainings I put myself through after our regular training has also been helpful.

“I am indeed very happy at the goals that I have been scoring for my team to help us get this far in the competition and it can only get better.”

Aguda revealed his target of a goal in each game he plays till Rangers win the 2019 Confederation Cup.

“By God’s grace, I believe that I will hit the double digit figure, that is twelve or thirteen goals, before the end of the competition. Remember we still have eleven more games to play.”

The utility player who is one the very few left from the 2016 Rangers squad that won the Nigeria Professional Football League league is focused on helping the Flying Antelopes achived the 2019 goals but he will be open to a move abroad.

“Just as it is the wish of most young players in the country, it is my desire to export my God given football talents overseas for better appreciation after helping my current club, Rangers International F.C, realize our targets for the current season.”

As Rangers for their matchday 2 encounter against C.S Sfaxien who defeated Etoile de Sahel in their first match, Aguda is only expecting a good result.

“We respect every team we play against and that respect continues with the Sfaxien game and we hope to come back with a respectable result.”
