Rangers’ Leon Balogun makes SPFL team of the week 1

Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun has been included in the Scottish Professional Football League team of the week one.

The former Brighton defender who joined Rangers on a free transfer has made the team after playing a huge role in his side’s 1-0 win at Aberdeen last week.

Leon Balogun won all ground duels (3), aerial duels (6), made one successful tackle, 1 block and created one huge chance.

The 32-year-old performance was described in the statement released by the Scottish Professional Football League as a strong and confident.

‘A very impressive start from the summer signing saw him dominate opposing attackers in Rangers’ 1-0 victory over Aberdeen as the two clubs got the Scottish Premiership season under way.’
