Rangers’ Mutawakilu Seidu confident Flying Antelopes will play continental football next season

Enugu Rangers goalkeeper Mutawakilu Seidu is confident that his club can secure an African competition place at the end of current season.

The towering shot stopper emphasized that Rangers are coming back to their best and with the quality of technical staff they have at their disposal, it is evident they can finish on a high in the 2017/2018 Nigerian Premier League.

“We have gradually found our form and we are going all out in the fixtures. I know the other clubs are not sleeping but with the tactical and technical efficiency of our coaches, we shall get to our desired position,” Seidu told his club’s website.

“My target remains to play my part in seeing Rangers back to the summit of African football and I will also use it as a springboard to get a Ghana Black Stars call up,”

The former Ghana National Under 20 goalkeeper also indicated that he is sure of regaining his starting berth despite losing his number one spot after a couple of games this season.

“No doubt it has been a difficult time sitting on the bench for a dozen of games. I am optimistic my time will come again and I will grab the opportunity with both hands.”

“My colleagues who have been selected ahead of me have been doing well and I am making corrections on my shortfalls. I believe very soon I will get my position back and I don’t want to fail my fans,”

Seidu joined Enugu Rangers in the 2016/2017 and soon took the number one spot from fellow Ghanaian Nana Bonsu.

He has previously played for Allah Koso Stars, Dreams FC, Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak.
