Raphael Onyedika Joins Eintracht Frankfurt After Successful Club Brugge Spell

Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika has joined Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt from Club Brugge on a long-term deal.

The 25-year-old has signed a contract that will keep him at the German club until June 30, 2031, and he will wear the number 25 shirt.

Onyedika moves to Germany after four successful seasons with Club Brugge, where he established himself as one of the club’s most reliable midfielders.

During his time in Belgium, he helped Club Brugge win two league titles, the Belgian Cup and the Belgian Super Cup.

Before joining Club Brugge, Onyedika played for FC Midtjylland in Denmark, where he won the Danish Cup.

The Nigerian midfielder arrives at Frankfurt with plenty of experience. He has made 268 senior appearances in his career, including 24 UEFA Champions League appearances over the last three seasons.

He has also earned 26 caps for Nigeria and was part of the Super Eagles squad that finished as runners-up at the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations.

Onyedika’s consistency has been one of his biggest strengths. He made 40, 49, 52 and 42 appearances for Club Brugge in his four seasons at the club.

Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche believes the midfielder’s strength, tactical understanding and consistency will make him an important player for the club.

“At 25 years old, he still has great potential for development and is also an important building block for the structure of our squad,” Krösche said.

Onyedika will now look to make his mark in the Bundesliga and continue his development with Eintracht Frankfurt.
