Rashedat Ajibade heads Nigeria into WAFCON Semi Final and 2023 World Cup Qualification.

Rashedat Ajibade headed home the only goal off Onomunu’s cross to seal a Nigeria’s 1-0 win over Cameroon and send the Super Falcons into the Semi Final of the Womens Africa Cup of Nations plus 2023 World Cup Qualification.

 

Nigeria have thus qualified for the Semi Final of the Womens cup of Nations for the 12th consecutive time with the Super Falcons finishing as Champions in all but two editions which were hosted and won by Equatiorial Guinea.

 

Ajibade who has scored in every game of the competition was at the right place to guide home Onomunu’s cross to beat the Lioness of Cameroon whose poor record vs the Super Falcons continued in Morocco .

 

Nigeria has thus qualified for the FIFA Womens World Cup for Nine Consecutive times the most by any African Country . With qualification for the World cup secured, Randy Waldrum and his girls will now concentrate on a defense of the WAFCON title won by Nigeria in 2018.

 

In the other Quater Final games decided on Wednesday 13th July 2022 , Zambia and Morroco defeated Senegal and Botswana respectively to reach the last four and qualify for the 2023 FIFA Womens World Cup.

 

South Africa will face Tunisia in the last Quater Final clash by 9pm today.
