Rasheedat Ajibade confident in Super Falcons’ chances against Brazil in Olympic opener
Super Falcons star Rasheedat Ajibade has expressed confidence in the Nigerian women’s national team’s ability to beat Brazil in their opening game of the Olympics.
Nigeria is drawn into Group D, facing tough opponents like Brazil, Spain, and Japan. They will start their journey against Brazil on Thursday, July 25th. Despite being the lowest-ranked team in the group, Ajibade believes they have what it takes to succeed.
Ajibade spoke to 54footballx about the team’s preparation and her confidence in their abilities. She highlighted that many Nigerian players compete in top leagues around the world and are familiar with the playing styles of their opponents.
“Playing in professional leagues, we encounter many players from different countries, including Brazil,” Ajibade said. “I can provide the team with insights on how specific players operate, especially those I have played with or against in Spain and Brazil. We can pool our knowledge to help the team succeed in the Olympics.”
