Rasheedat Ajibade Likely to Leave Atletico Madrid at End of Season
Super Falcons forward Rasheedat Ajibade may leave Atletico Madrid Femeni when the season ends, as she is not expected to sign a new contract with the Spanish club.
Ajibade has been with Atletico Madrid for the past four years and has played a key role in their team. She has made 136 appearances and scored 40 goals during her time at the club.
This season, the 25-year-old has scored six goals and provided three assists in 19 games. Atletico Madrid currently sit third in the Spanish Liga F with 27 matches played.
However, reports from Soccerdonna suggest that Ajibade is likely to move on in the summer, and the club is already searching for a replacement.
Ajibade has been linked with a move to the United States, where she could play in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). Her Super Falcons teammate, Asisat Oshoala, currently plays for Bay FC in the same league after leaving Barcelona.
Although no specific club has been mentioned yet, Ajibade could possibly join Oshoala at Bay FC, as the NWSL continues to attract top talents from around the world.
Ajibade has earned 29 caps for Nigeria and scored five goals. She is expected to be one of the standout players for the Super Falcons at the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in 2025.
