Are you ready for a night of derbies?

Five down, three to go, and what a night of EFL Cup action we have in store for you tonight.

The Manchester derby, Guardiola v Mourinho, two teams looking for the fire exit from their recent runs of indifferent form.

The London Stadium, West Ham v Chelsea, two managers in Slaven Bilic and Antonio Conte who bring more energy to their respective touchlines than Torvill and Dean’s Bolero, with a little more anger.

And then it’s the red-and-white vertical stripe derby (I know, tenuous, it’s early) with struggling Sunderland hosting high-flying Southampton, who have the miraculous ability to sell players and switch managers while seemingly improving year-by-year. If only, Sunderland fans, if only.
