Real Madrid Ready for PSG Test – Trent Alexander-Arnold

Real Madrid defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has said that while PSG are a strong side, he believes Los Blancos have what it takes to beat any team in the world.

Alexander-Arnold made the comments after Real Madrid’s hard-fought 3-2 win over Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-finals of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.

The victory secured Madrid a place in the semi-finals, where they will now face reigning European champions PSG in a highly anticipated clash.

Despite playing the final minutes of the game with 10 men after Dean Huijsen was sent off for a last-minute foul, Madrid showed their trademark determination to hold off a late Dortmund fightback.

Speaking after the game, Alexander-Arnold praised PSG’s quality but remained confident in his team’s ability.

“PSG are champions of Europe for a reason. I’ve seen a few of their games – they’re a very strong side,” he said. “But we’re Real Madrid. We believe we’re stronger, and we believe we can beat anyone.”

The former Liverpool star also spoke about his time at Madrid so far, calling the experience a dream come true.

“It’s been amazing. Every time I step onto the pitch in a Madrid shirt, it feels like a dream. Playing alongside some of the best in the world has been a real pleasure,” he said.

Real Madrid had gone 2-0 up thanks to goals from Gonzalo Garcia and Fran Garcia, but Dortmund pulled one back through Maximilian Beier. Kylian Mbappé, who joined Madrid earlier this summer, added a third with a spectacular acrobatic finish in stoppage time.

Shortly after, Huijsen’s red card gave Dortmund a penalty, adding tension to the final moments. But Madrid held on to book their semi-final place.

Earlier in the day, PSG defeated Bayern Munich 2-0 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, setting up a blockbuster semi-final showdown with the Spanish giants.

With the stakes now higher than ever, all eyes will be on Real Madrid as they continue their bid for another Club World Cup title.
