Real Madrid set deadline for Kylian Mbappe offer

Real Madrid is reportedly preparing a new offer for Kylian Mbappe with a set deadline for the player to respond. SportsRation reports per the Athletic.

The move comes after the summer transfer saga in which Mbappe decided to stay at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) instead of joining Real Madrid.

The new offer will be presented with a mid-January deadline, and if Mbappe does not accept by then, Real Madrid will cease their interest.

Additionally, due to financial constraints, Real Madrid’s offer to Mbappe is expected to be reduced compared to the previous attempt.

The ongoing construction work at the Santiago Bernabeu has limited the club’s spending, and offering a reduced package is seen as a measure to meet yearly profit goals and avoid potential unrest in the dressing room.

The deadline approach aims to avoid a repeat of the previous transfer saga and provides clarity on Mbappe’s decision before the winter transfer window concludes.

Mbappe’s current contract with PSG is set to expire in the summer of 2024, allowing him to negotiate with other clubs from January 1.

The Frenchman is a confessed admirer of Real Madrid and the lure of a possible UEFA Champions League win is one that will greatly influence his choice as he run-down his PSG contract.

Renewing with hometown club PSG is also on the cards while the likes of Liverpool are also said to keep interest but are not ready to engage in a mega financial tussle.
